Your journey to self-discovery

Understand what makes our sessions unique, what to expect, and how we can empower you to navigate life abroad with confidence.

What makes our sessions special

Many seek therapy, but those living outside of Brazil primarily seek to be fully understood. What makes my work different is the combination of three pillars you will rarely find together in one place.

An empathetic ear from someone who has also crossed the ocean

My personal touch is the empathy of someone who lives in the same geography. I understand the unique challenges and experiences of Brazilians living abroad.

The balance between science and real life

My practice is neither cold nor purely academic. On my YouTube channel, Café com Análise, I already exercise this accessible and human language, making complex concepts relatable.

Shared reality, not just theory

I don't just study the theory; I share the reality of being a Brazilian abroad. This lived experience informs my approach and deepens my understanding of your journey.

What to expect during a session

Many feel a certain nervousness before their first session, especially in an online environment. My role is to ensure this space is your safe haven, no matter the distance. Here's how our dynamic works:

The beginning: creating the holding environment

We start with a brief reception to ensure that the technology (video and audio) is working well. Just as Winnicott proposed, I seek to offer a 'holding environment.' In the first few minutes, we establish the necessary connection for you to feel comfortable leaving the outside world behind and focusing on yourself.

Your space for expression

In the session, there are no judgments or rigid scripts. You bring what is pulsating in your heart today: an anguish from the week, a dream, a longing, or a relationship conflict. As you speak, I listen to what is between the lines. My role is not to give advice or ready-made solutions, but to point out repetitions and help you see what your unconscious is trying to tell you.

The positive outcome: what you gain

Moving abroad is a geographical challenge, but living abroad is a constant emotional challenge. The goal of our work is not just to solve specific problems but to strengthen who you are so that life becomes lighter, no matter where you live.

Regain autonomy in your life abroad

The biggest gain is autonomy. The main result is that you cease to be a 'victim' of immigration circumstances or external pressures to become the protagonist of your own story. You will leave the sessions with more internal resources to face loneliness, life transitions (such as maturity), and difficult choices, living with more authenticity and less guilt.

Preparing for your first session

Psychoanalysis is an encounter where your speech is the protagonist. To help you feel more comfortable and make the most of our time, here are some simple recommendations for our online sessions:

Your space of confidentiality

As we are in different countries, your physical environment is our consulting room. Choose a place where you feel safe to speak without interruptions and where you know no one is listening. The use of headphones is highly recommended: they ensure your privacy and help create a 'bubble' of focus between us.

No script needed

Many people worry about 'what to say' first. In psychoanalysis, there is no right or wrong. You don't need to prepare a presentation or a list of topics. Let your thoughts flow freely; what seems 'unimportant' or 'loose' is often where we find the most valuable clues for your analysis. If possible, avoid scheduling immediate appointments after your session to allow for reflection.
